Gomoa Central Celebrates 67th Independence Day Anniversary

The Gomoa Central District has joined many Ghanaians all over the country to celebrate the nation’s 67th Independence anniversary.

The colorful event took place on March 6, 2024, at the Gomoa Afransi School Park.

Present at the event were the DCE for the Gomoa Central District, Hon. Benjamin Kojo Otoo, Coordinating Director Alhaji Rahim-Musah, Education Director, Chiefs, students, teachers, and natives of the town.

Speaking on the theme ‘Our Democracy, Our Pride', the DCE stated that it is good to know that after 67 years of independence, Ghana can be named a beacon of hope when it comes to democracy in Africa. 

He went ahead to encourage all present at the gathering to continue being patriotic citizens of this country.

Concerning education, he said that the president of the country, H.E. Nana Akuffo Addo, is really interested in the improvement of Human Resources in the country.

Hence, his involvement in the improvement of the Free SHS policy to ensure that most of the children have the basic form of education.

Schoolchildren were not left out of the delicate celebration, as they took turns marching.

They included students from Basic Schools, Junior High Schools, and Secondary Schools in the Gomoa Central District.

Awards and certificates were later awarded to these schools for their active participation in the celebration.
