Inauguration Ceremony

The Gomoa Central District held an inauguration of the third assembly for newly elected assembly members and the presiding member.

In all, 22 members, consisting of 15 elected assembly members and 7 appointees, were sworn in.

This took place on February 12, 2024, at the District Assembly's conference room.

Present at the ceremony were the DCE for the district, Hon. Benjamin Kojo Otoo, the Coordinating Director, Alhaji Rahim-Musah, the heads of departments,  and former and present Assembly members, among others.

In his speech, Hon. Benjamin Kojo Otoo asked the newly elected members to work as one body to ensure the progress of the district.

The newly elected assembly members and government appointees were sworn into office after they had taken their oaths of allegiance and secrecy.

The election for a new presiding member was held, and there was only one candidate, Hon. Ernest Quarm.

He won the elections with over 80% of the votes after members voted for the second time since he did not make the cut the first time.

After being sworn in, he added that he would work hard with everyone to ensure the success of his tenure in office.
